bonjour, i'm melie

Yoga Teacher, Teacher Trainer and Childbirth Educator

I am passionate about sharing how Yoga and Education can change the lenses through which you see the world.

For the last decade, all the while raising my three amazing girls, I’ve been a dedicated student of yoga.

At 22, I found myself expecting my first child, a revelation that filled me with equal parts fear and excitement. I can still picture myself sitting in the kitchen of my one-bedroom apartment, which I shared with three roommates, wondering how on earth I was going to navigate this new chapter.

Discovering the Bradley Method class opened my eyes to the world of childbirth education, igniting a passion that grew with each of my three pregnancies. By the time my second daughter turned one, I felt called to enroll in a Yoga Teacher Training program. I knew if yoga had been a lifeline for me through so many transitions, it could offer the same to others.

I am proud to lead group and private classes, trainings, and workshops, guiding people from all over the world through yoga and helping them develop the critical thinking and resilience needed to thrive on their journey toward parenthood and beyond.

My purpose is to make this uncomplicated for you…

I’m here to help you tackle your journey to parenthood with confidence, providing you with the tools and support you need to feel prepared and empowered.

I’ll bridge the gap between your expectations and personal experience, making sure you feel informed and at ease throughout the process.

My goal is to facilitate a deeper connection between you, your body, and your baby, using mindful practices to enhance your overall experience.

I want to emphasize that birth is a natural physiological process, and I’ll support you in understanding and embracing this aspect of your journey.

I’ll encourage you to listen to your body’s wisdom, guiding you to develop self-awareness and intuition throughout your pregnancy.

I’m dedicated to cultivating a sense of calm and focus, offering techniques such as breathwork and meditation to help you manage stress and relax.

I’ll provide practical tools and strategies for handling pain and discomfort, ensuring you feel prepared for any challenges that may arise.

Why prenatal yoga?

Prenatal yoga classes become a magnet for like-minded individuals.

My favorite moments are when students, having just met, strike up conversations, share their experiences, and leave the class with new friendships and plans for decaf coffee dates. It’s a beautiful reminder that the community we build can support each other even before the baby arrives. By fostering a nonjudgmental, inclusive, and safe environment, we can help alleviate the anxiety and stress associated with welcoming new life and navigating parenthood.

There’s a unique magic in a prenatal yoga class. It can be a rare space where students are not seen through the lens of their limitations. Instead, the class is designed to meet students exactly where they are, whether they’re new to yoga or experienced practitioners.

Being a prenatal yoga teacher is a role that requires continual learning. That’s why I became a certified Birthsmart Educator.

I am committed to staying informed ensures that I provide students with accurate information and remain relevant as guidelines and studies evolve. While I focus on teaching and avoid diagnosing or treating, keeping up with current research helps me support my students effectively and advocate for their rights and best practices throughout their journey.
